Department of Justice Website Honored
HELENA -- The redesigned website of the Montana Department of Justice received two awards during the recent gathering of the Conference of Western Attorneys General at Park City, Utah.
The DOJ site received "WAGGY" awards for best redesign and for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. It was the only site to receive more than one award.
The awards were handed out by an eight-member review committee representing
attorneys general offices in California, Colorado, Montana, Washington, South
Dakota and Utah.
The redesign award recognizes recent, comprehensive, effective changes to
a site. The committee said the DOJ home page has "logical organized
navigation and has a well-balanced layout." The committee also noted
that the site is organized by function of the office rather than by office
organization.
The ADA award went to sites that met so-called "Bobby" criteria. Bobby is a trademark website tool designed to identify barriers for people with disabilities. Montana joined California, Colorado, North Dakota and South Dakota in meeting the Bobby criteria.
