McGrath: Laslovich Joins Department of Justice

HELENA – Attorney General Mike McGrath today announced the appointment of Jesse Laslovich of Anaconda as an assistant attorney general.

Laslovich, 26, graduated with honors from the University of Montana in 2003, earning a degree in political science with a minor in economics. He earned his law degree from UM in 2006 and was a member of the law school's trial team as well as serving as vice president of the UM Student Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

"Jesse is a bright young lawyer and we're privileged to be able to hire someone with his talent," McGrath said. "With vacancies in the Legal Services Division and a significant workload, we recruited him to join the department."

Laslovich started July 16 and will be a member of McGrath's exempt personal staff. His salary will be $45,760 per year. He will commute to Helena from his home in Anaconda.

Laslovich served in the Montana House of Representatives from 2001 to 2004 and has been a state senator since 2005. He also was a legal intern and attorney at Datsopoulos, MacDonald and Lind in Missoula, and in the fall of 2006, Laslovich was an adjunct professor at the University of Montana School of Law.
