Libby Driver Exam Station to Reopen

HELENA — Officials with the Motor Vehicle Division of the state Department of Justice said Monday that the Libby driver exam station will reopen Wednesday, June 18. The station had been closed since the first of the year.

Dean Roberts, MVD administrator, said the Libby station at 512 California Avenue will be open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Roberts said the MVD plans to extend the Libby office’s Wednesday hours later this summer. The exam station’s telephone number is 293-7781, ext. 227.

The station’s services include license renewals, duplicate licenses and written tests. Commercial driver license skill tests are also offered in Libby, but, like commercial tests elsewhere in the state, they must be scheduled in advance.

“All of us at the Motor Vehicle Division are grateful to Attorney General Mike McGrath, Lincoln County Treasurer Geri Miller and County Commissioner Rita Windom for their support in reopening the exam station,” Roberts said.
