Office of Consumer Protection Releases Update on AirTEL Wireless
HELENA – The Office of Consumer Protection has fielded over 60 calls and complaints regarding the abrupt end to cellular service in Montana by AirTEL Wireless. Department of Justice attorneys are looking into the situation to see if there are legal avenues they can take to try and get relief or refunds for customers who have been left without the service they paid for.
In the meantime, the Office of Consumer Protection is encouraging AirTEL customers to visit the department’s website to file a complaint or call toll-free at (800) 481-6896 or (406) 444-4500. Moreover, any AirTEL customers who had their payment automatically withdrawn from a bank account should contact their bank or lending institution as soon as possible.
