Bullock Announces Support of House Bill 228
HELENA – Attorney General Steve Bullock, Montana’s top law enforcement official, released the following statement after a legislative committee passed House Bill 228—Citizen Self-Defense and Firearm Rights:
“As Attorney General, I have been committed to getting a law passed that recognizes the rights of Montanans to defend themselves, their families and their homes.
“Through a lot of hard work and compromise, we have a bill that affirms the individual right to keep and bear arms, and protects the men and women serving in law enforcement. Since this measure does both, I hope the House and Senate support it and it becomes law.”
Bullock recently joined United States Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester in telling U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder that he would vehemently oppose any efforts to reinstate the assault weapons ban.
