Bullock Releases Statement Recognizing AmeriCorps VISTA Members
HELENA – Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock, who oversees the Montana Department of Justice, released the following statement today recognizing AmeriCorps VISTA Adrienne Landreth:
“Our VISTA, Adrianne Landreth, has been a tremendous addition to the staff of the Office of Consumer Protection and Victim Services over the past year. When we got the settlement against the cell phone company, AirTEL Wireless, it was Adrianne who located former customers and organized the refund process. She has also done in-depth research into unscrupulous quasi-health businesses that were misleading Montana consumers, and her efforts to improve the quality of and attendance at our statewide victim services training have been very successful.
“By volunteering their time and considerable skills through AmeriCorps, people like Adrianne are making a visible difference in communities throughout Montana and our nation. It’s a wonderful way for young people to gain work experience, older citizens to give back to their communities, and everyone in between to do something meaningful.”
In conjunction with National AmeriCorps Week, which is celebrated May 8-15, Bullock encouraged others to recognize AmeriCorps members serving in organizations and communities across Montana.
