Eureka Driver Exam Station Begins Appointment Scheduling

Eureka Driver Exam Station Begins Appointment Scheduling

Motor Vehicle Division Administrator Brenda Nordlund announced Thursday that beginning June 14, the Eureka driver exam station will shift to scheduled customer appointments for all services.

“The driver’s license office in the Eureka courthouse often has customers lining up at 7:30 in the morning even though the exam station doesn’t open until 10:00. Customers have been requesting scheduled appointments for over a year,” Nordlund said. “Appointment scheduling will help us provide better service to each and every customer.”

According to Nordlund, feedback from customers who use appointment scheduling elsewhere in the state has been very positive. Appointment scheduling is active in the Billings, Bozeman, Columbus, Glendive, Great Falls, Hardin, Helena, Kalispell, Miles City, Missoula, Red Lodge, Sidney, Superior and Townsend areas.

The majority of appointments may be scheduled online. Appointments such as knowledge and road tests, out-of-state license transfers, license renewals, Stage I and II vehicle identification number (VIN) inspections and completion of some types of the driver education programs may be scheduled by going online to www.doj.mt.gov/driving and clicking “Appointment Scheduling.” Appointments for Stage III VIN inspections must be scheduled through the MVD Customer Service Center at 1-866-450-8034.

Customers are encouraged to check the Driver Services section of the Department of Justice website at www.doj.mt.gov/driving. The website offers details about required documentation, fees and other important information people need to know for their appointments.

“We know that our customers are busy, and many have to take time off work to come to our offices. As we’ve seen at other scheduled exam stations, it saves people time and helps everything run smoothly when they arrive at an appointment with everything they need,” Kristine Thatcher, Driver License Bureau Chief, said.

People who do not have Internet access can call the MVD Customer Service Center toll free at 1-866-450-8034 to schedule an appointment.
