For Farmers and Ranchers

“It is impossible to visit any corner of Montana and not realize how important our rural areas are, and more specifically, how important agriculture is to not only our local economies, but cities and towns, also. The Montana Attorney General’s Office is committed to working alongside Montana’s top industry – production agriculture.”
Wheat, barley and beef comprise the most significant sectors of our agricultural economy, but Montanans also grow and raise a remarkable assortment of traditional and specialty crops and all types of livestock, often of unparalleled quality. These farms and ranches, large and small, are the backbone of our Montana economy.

The Office of Consumer Protection pays close attention to the unique marketplace challenges of Montana’s farmers and ranchers. The office has helped helped individual farmers and ranchers avoid foreclosure, worked to protect farmers and ranchers from scams — and to help farmers and ranchers who have been the victims of consumer fraud.

This office is a resource for all farmers and ranchers. We want to hear from you. If you feel you have been the victim of consumer fraud, please file a complaint online with the Office of Consumer Protection or call us at  800-481-6896 or 406-444-4500 in the Helena area. You may also download our consumer complaint form.
